Hi! It’s me! Lily!!!

And you get some bonus posts!!!

I flew with Yuki and Asuka to Texas!!!  Asuka wants to meet all my sisters.  Ai and Miki, et al., wanted to come, but they’re either doing school or idol stuff, and couldn’t make it.  It’s okay, I think Sabby would have blown a gasket at a car full of Japanese girls.

Yuki is in between jobs, and Asuka is too, and I’m on summer break from college, so… it all works out.

I asked the boss if he cared, and he kinda yelled at me again, but this time for a different reason.  “Lily,” he said, sounding a bit uncharacteristically exasperated, “I wasn’t telling you not to use the gifts I’ve given you.  In fact, I was upset at you because you weren’t using the gifts I’ve given you.  You’re here because I need a healer, and you can’t heal people you haven’t met!”

Point.

I asked him if he had some kind of quota for me, and he sounded exasperated again.  “You’re so good at missing the point, Lily.  You just get to know those I put in front of you.  You don’t have to work at it.  That will fail anyway.  Just don’t make it harder for me.  That’s all.”

So… I guess I just have to let those who the Boss has ordained to be my sisters, well… my sister.

(Does Asuka know I’m a “walking shrine?”  Well… not all details, but she has the gist of it.  I’ve never popped in front of her, but I’ll have to tell her eventually.)

Anyway…  Sabby picked the three of us up and, well, of course…. the first thing Asuka mentioned was the cows.  As usual.  Well, we do drive through the Texas countryside between Houston and Austin, so…  The US actually feels different now. I’ve gotten used to Japan, and there’s a lot of empty space here…

Anyway, we got here, and… remember how last time, Suzuka and Haruka were raring to go and headed for the garage to dance?  Yeah, Asuka and Yuki aren’t doing that.  We got some food, and then all three of us made a mini-pile and took a nap.

The girls came over this evening, and they all met Asuka.  They like her.  Well, of course they do, I have good taste.  She might have messed a few things up, but she has a good heart.  Dave grilled, of course, and… well… you know that scene in Onimai where Mahiro downs an entire pizza?  It was kind of like that.  She’s not as bad as Yuuko, but that poor chicken, well, found a good home.  In her belly.

Crystal was joking about how she might be the first Japanese woman I took home that wasn’t a relative, an idol, or a schoolgirl.  I kinda laughed, because it’s true.  She’s a voice actor.

Tomorrow we’re going to take her by the live house, we’ve got a few cool bands playing apparently, and she’s kinda interested in the scene.  I guess Anathema’s still working there part-time, but mostly she’s just staying home with her baby.  I can’t wait for Asuka to meet her.  She quit college for now, but I can’t blame her.  She thinks her new baby and husband are more important.  I can’t disagree with her at all.  She says she’ll go back when the baby is a little older, and she has reliable child care.  She is taking some Internet courses, so at least there’s that.

Asuka wants to go to church too….  It’s always kind of a crap-shoot taking people to church, but we’ll take her anyway.  Maybe she’ll find something useful there, after all.  I know Anathema did.

Jack already met her when he came to Japan.  He likes her.  She tolerates him.  I guess she reminds him of one of her exes.

Anyway, I’m going to give you some diary entries until I go back to Japan.  I kinda feel like I’m supposed to… and not helped by the fact that the Boss is giggling in my head.  NOT HELPING, BOSS.

Love you all!!!

From the Creator:

YAY!!! YOU GET POSTS!!!  I won’t make a habit of it, but I just felt like I wanted to resurrect Lily for a bit.

Now, let me tell you about some laptop issues I’ve been having.

I bought a Gigabyte 15S OLED XB a while ago.  I decided it would be a great idea to update it.  I bricked it good.  Like “I have to take a hot air gun to the motherboard and order chips from China” bricked it.  So I’m waiting for those parts to arrive and hoping they fix it.  Right now it’s a very expensive paperweight disassembled on my lab bench.

So before I knew it was fixable, I got an HP something or other.  It fits the bill fine, but the keyboard SUCKS.  Sigh.

Bah.  Gaming laptops are their own brand of trouble.
