Rather than posting to diaries or comments on diaries, I’ll be posting changes to the story here (and also issues I need to address). I’ll also be posting issues I notice in order to fix later.
This story has never been perfect…
6/7/25: Haruka issue fixed. Also many other fixes. Table of Contents (series) is now formatted far better (I hate CSS) and everything looks a lot neater and more buttoned up. Still not a complete fan but I’m tired of messing with CSS for tonight. Looked for some spellchecking plugins and didn’t find one that meets my needs. Either I’m going through every post with a spellchecker (all 1,060 or so), I’m going to have to write my own, or shell out some money to site checkers. But the errors exist, so I will have to solve it one way or other. Also did some general plugin cleanup, though I am honestly not sure it it will help performance all that much. Worth a try, though. The Crio theme is just… slow. Really, really slow. And I may need to find a more, err, responsive theme.
But that will have to be for another day.
I’m debating removing some of the images/youtubes/etc. I’m not sure they serve the story.
6/7/25: Somehow I started calling Haruka “Haruka”, and then inexplicably changed that to “Haruka” in the middle of the story arc. This needs to be fixed. This will be referred to as the “Haruka” going forward issue. There are also quite a few typos scattered throughout, will need to fix these. It’s going to be a long process. “Haruka” and “Haruka” are both valid Japanese names, with valid (and rather beautiful) meanings, but I think I will stick with Haruka. It sounds better. Also, removing some diary entries that are better served elsewhere.
Additionally, need to create story arc series and consider what to do with headings. Currently they’re the date with some optional descriptions. I’m not absolutely sure I like that. And some of the hearts at the end (because of Windows) are black and white rather than red.
6/6/25: Disabled subscriptions/membership, and hid all member/fanservice content. This was done because I have never been entirely comfortable with the idea in the first place, and half-assed it anyway. If I can think of a good reason to bring either membership/subscription, fanservice, or both back, I will in the future.
