I am STILL full!!! I went on a Christmas Eve bender last night. I went to everyone’s house that knows about my little secret and did Christmas Eve with them!!! Sabby was happy to see me! Crystal was VERY happy to see me! Everyone was happy to see me!
And I was happy to see them. And, oh, the goodies! All the goodies! In fact, I took some home to Yuki and she chowed down too. Christmas is a working day in Japan, but she’s out now (it’s evening) with her parents eating KFC. She gets along alright with her parents. They seem happy that she’s working again. She’s become quite the voice actress!!! She’s got several bit parts now in different anime, and she’s having a blast. Hasn’t quite broken out yet, but she’s on her way.
Yuki says there’s nothing like American sweets. I have to agree. Especially the ones Sabby makes. She really went all out – I had to take her “contributions” home in a garbage bag. I was almost afraid it’d overload the totem, but it handled it fine. Probably pushing the limits just a bit but I asked the Boss beforehand, he said it’s mostly (not entirely) related to weight, not size, but not to get much larger than a full garbage bag. Haha! It all worked out!!!
Speaking of the Boss, I asked if it really was his birthday. He said it didn’t really matter, did it? He’s just happy people are celebrating it at all.
He’s like that, sometimes. He won’t answer some questions. He says some questions we’re not ready for the answer, and some just don’t matter. He won’t tell me if there’s extraterrestrial life (Beth really pushed me to ask that). He says the answer really won’t make much difference now anyway, and the answer might actually do more harm than good.
Beth was disappointed. I didn’t really care. I mean, it’s a neat question, but he’s right, it doesn’t really matter.
Anyway, there were so many treats I actually found a Santa costume at a Don Quijote nearby and delivered some to everyone. All the idols (they really enjoyed them, you’d be surprised at how much they can pack away, I guess it’s all the dancing), Ai and the aidols, everyone got a few treats. They love Sabby, haha. Miki’s been threatening to make a song about Sabby and her treats. I advised her not to, but I think Sabby would be flattered. Maybe they’d make the video at our shop/live house. That’d be fun.
Yuki says it’s so weird how sometimes I just pop in and out, but I guess she’s used to it now. She texts me when I’m out to tell me if someone’s over so I don’t pop into the living room and scare the crap out of them.
Crystal’s still with her girlfriend, but she’s seemed a bit uncomfortable. I’m not sure why. Well, I’m sure she’ll figure it out. She’s damaged, but not dumb. I asked the Boss what he thinks about that. He said that he’s not really a fan, but he loves her and she’ll figure it out. I think she will. That’s something about the Boss. He doesn’t hold grudges. It’s the weirdest thing. He even downright forgets sometimes if you did something wrong. Can he forget? I guess so.
There’s something they do in Japan that they don’t do here – ear cleaning! It’s the weirdest thing! But it feels pretty good. Yuki and I clean each others’ ears sometimes. She’s a good friend.
(I guess you have to be to clean ears, haha)
I forgot to mention Liz last time, by the way. Bad me. Really bad me. She’s still in college, and she’s getting high grades as usual. She and her boyfriend are still in a long distance relationship, but she’s focusing more on her education right now. As expected from Liz!!! I stopped by her dorm last night and we caught up a little. And I brought her some Sabby treats!
They’re like Scooby Snacks but for gluttonous young women! Haha!!!
New years is coming up, and there are a few things people do here. Yuki and I got a kotatsu and she showed me how to sit under the kotatsu and eat mikan (mandarin oranges). She said it’s something she did as a child, and it’s kinda nice. New years they do the first shrine visit and view the first sunrise. I asked the Boss what he thinks about praying at the shrine. He said it’s fine, but I’d better pray to him and not the enshrined god. That’s between you and me. I’m betting the priest wouldn’t like that. But ringing the bell, bowing, clapping… it’s al about who I’m praying to, not the actions I’m taking.
Still makes me a little uncomfortable, though. I know who the real one is… that’s not a religious thing, I mean, he talks to me all the time. Whether I want him to or not.
Anyway, there’s not a whole lot to update right now. Everyone’s still everyone, and things are humming along from the last update. I guess I’m going to do homework and go to bed.
