Hi! It’s me! Lily!

And it’s still cold and rainy!!!

Just last month it was hot and not rainy!  And I wanted it to be cold and rainy!  Now I want it to be not cold and not rainy!!!

Sometimes you just can’t please a girl.  Hahaha!!!

Sabby and I went to the shop today.  I made some chocolate!  It wasn’t perfect, but it was good!!!  I brought it home for everyone to taste and they really liked it!

But the texture could use some work.  Maybe next time!!!  I put another batch of beans in the dryer!!!

Sabby was making Thanksgiving treats!  She really outdid herself again!  And this time she had industrial baking equipment!  She made so many cookies that we couldn’t even take them all home!  So instead she made up some business cards, put them in boxes, and took them around to hotels and convenience stores and all sorts of places that might want to buy cookies and cakes!  And.. that was genius.  She had calls on her phone before she even got back to the shop!!!

So the shop might be opening after Thanksgiving, but I guess we’re spending all this week filling orders!!!

The shop I used to work for wants a contract!!! Where we deliver cookies every day!  She said she’s open to that, but we need to hire a delivery driver!!!

Oh JAAAAAACCCKKKKK!!!!  Hahahah!!!!!

Maybe we need a van or something.  I don’t know.  We’ll see.

Jack might not be able to until he’s 18.  But maybe he can.  We’ll have to talk to the lawyer.

While Allison was over for Girl Thanksgiving her bathtub fell!  Awww!!!  And now her family is running around trying to get everything fixed!!!  I guess chocolate doesn’t fix bathtubs, but I hope they tried!!!

Anyway, it’s later than usual and I gotta bed!  Marie is already asleep.

Love you all!!! ❤

Hi! It’s me! Lily!!!

Today was a nice day.  Well… not weatherwise.  It was cold and rainy weatherwise.  In fact, they forecasted sleet.  I don’t know if I saw any, but…

It was a good day for hot cocoa and hot soup.

And spending a bit of time with my boyfriend.

I went over to Jack’s house and just spent some time with him and his family.  Grace and Lily wanted to play, but it was so cold and rainy.  So we just ate lunch and had a movie and just cuddled for a bit.  It was nice.  It’s always nice cuddling with Jack.

Otherwise, not much going on today.   Sabby made a nice, warm dinner, which was nice, and we went over to the shop to get ready for the grand opening, which we decided was the day after Thanksgiving.  Yaaayyy!!!  We spent some time talking over the menu and figuring out what we wanted to offer.  I had the idea to also learn how to make candy, and Sabby thought that was a pretty good idea, but we also have to be careful not to make too many different things.  But chocolate and candy fit pretty well with cookies and cakes, so…  it works out.

But I have to learn how to make all that stuff.

I also spent some time roasting my cacao beans.  It’s hard to do, but I think I got it.

She’s going to spend some time making some Thanksgiving treats to get used to all the equipment.  Knowing Sabby, we’ll be swimming in treats for a week.

But that’s something I love about her.

Anyway, gotta go.

Love you all!!! ❤

Hi! It’s me! Lily!

It’s Girl Thanksgiving!!!

What’s Girl Thanksgiving, you might ask?

Well, since Crystal and Diana have plans for Actual Thanksgiving, everyone came over tonight and we had Girl Thanksgiving!!!  Liz, Crystal, Diana, Beth of course, even Allison!  Though she’s a bit tired from being sick.

We didn’t have turkey, but Dave grilled up something special and we ate and drank.  And afterwards, we all talked about what we were thankful for.

And while we each had our things, we all said we were thankful that Crystal is alive and here.

And she started crying.

But they were happy tears.

Of course I also said I was thankful for chocolate – because I am.  Hahaha!!!

Afterwards, we all watched a movie, and now we’re all in our pajamas and ready to play some games before bedtime!  We’ll all make a huge girl-pile tonight!!!

I just hope the farter, well, doesn’t. Hahaha!!!

Okay!!!

Oh and Sabby’s birthday is coming up.  I have to think of a really nice present for her!!!  Any ideas???

Love you all!!! ❤

Hi! It’s me! Lily!

I’m a Lily!!!!

Haha!!!

I was watching YouTube last night, and I saw another woman named Yuriko!  I guess I should have known I wasn’t the only one, but… it doesn’t seem to be a common name.  Lily is a common name!  But it’s spelled differently sometimes.  Lily, Lili, Lilli, Lilly, Hey you… haha!!! But my name is spelled Lily!!!

Well, it’s also spelled ゆり子 or 百合子 but we don’t talk about that.  Haha!!!

Lilies are pretty though.  Even spider lilies!!!

Lycoris radiata.

I haven’t seen many of those lately, but it seems significant in my life for some reason.  I have no idea why.  But I do have a couple of very pretty glass spider lilies stored safely away.  They’re so pretty in the light!

Anyway, can you tell I don’t have anything important to talk about today?  Sabby’s happy, she’s learning how to use all of her equipment, and my beans are dry now!  I can start roasting!!!  But from here on it gets a little more time consuming.  I’ll have to do mixing and blending and tempering and pouring, and I’ll probably mess up the first batch.  And the second.  And the third.  But I get to taste it, so not all is lost!!!

Some of the girls are coming over tomorrow night.  Both Crystal and Diana are going places for Thanksgiving, so no girl get-together next week!  But that’s okay!!!  They come over a lot anyway!!!  Maybe Allison can come over and bring over Milo!!!

Okay.  Gotta go!!!

Love you all!!! ❤

 Hi! It’s me! Lily!

And nothing’s going on.

Nottttthiiinnnnnnnnngggggg!!!

It’s boringly boring today!!!

But dinner was good, and I checked on my beans – they’re still drying out but look good!!!

And this weekend we’re going to spend all weekend at the store to prepare for the grand opening!!!

Sabby’s been making flyers and everything!

PREPARE THE DOOTER!!!

Hahahahaah!!!!!

Dooteronomy!!!

HAHAHAAH!!!!!!!

Oh man I had chocolate, can you tell?

WHEEEEE!!!!

Love you all!!! ❤

Hi! It’s me! Lily!

My beans fermented!  Yaaay!!!

So now they’re in the dehydrator getting nice and dry.

They’re so eewwww right now but… they turn into chocolate!!!

Otherwise, it’s Wednesday.  A nice, quiet Wednesday.

This evening Grace, Lily, and Jack came over for dinner!!! Well, Grace and Jack.  Lily and Marie played in the backyard.  They get along fine!!!  Grace had mac and cheese!  She loves mac and cheese!  But Dave grilled for the rest of us!!! It was yummy as always!!!  It’s so cold outside though!!!  Jack’s place has a good grill, but apparently they were doing some repaving at his parking lot and it was a huge mess!!!  Lots and lots of big machines!!!  Grace loved it!!!  But Lily wasn’t very happy, which was one reason they took her over here to play with Marie.

But it was nice having them over.

Dave bought one of those big turkey deep fryers!!!  I hear they’re dangerous.  I told Dave if he gets hurt, I’ll make it hurt twice as much!

At least he had the decency to gulp.

Sabby backed me up on that, though.  There’s a safe way to do it, and a not so safe way.

But Jack and Grace went home.  Awww.  Oh well, at least we see each other on most weekends.  And Thanksgiving is near!!!

I haven’t heard how Allison’s doing, though.  I should ask.

Love you all!!! ❤

Hi! It’s me! Lily!!!

It was not anything special as far as days go.  It was a day.  A cold, rainy day that was really good for some hot chocolate.  And, well, I had some hot chocolate.

I mean, I’m me, what did you expect?

When I go to Starbucks, I get a mocha!  Because it has chocolate!!!

I like mint too, but not as much as chocolate.

I heard Alllison is sick today!!!  I couldn’t get her chocolate, but I asked her mother to give her some!  I hate being sick!  Awww!  But it’s when people take care of you, so… that’s something, right?

And give you chocolate!!!

I checked on my fermented beans today.  They’re still fermenting!  But almost done!!!

We invited Jack’s and Liz’s families over for Thanksgiving!  Yaaaayyy!!!  It’s a week and a half now!!!  TURKEY!!! and CRANBERRIES!!! And… there’s no traditional chocolate food.  Aww.  Well, I’m sure we’ll figure something out!  Maybe a chocolate cake, with my own chocolate!  We’ll see!!!

I checked my Twitter account today.  It’s been a while.  And… everyone’s complaining about a guy called Elon!  I guess he bought Twitter!!!  It just seems like people want to complain about him, though.  Awww.  I looked him up, he’s really rich!  And smart!  If it weren’t for Jack…. haha!!! Not really.  He’s not really good with wives.  Guess you can’t have it all.  I’ll stick with Jack.  Hahah!  Poor Elon!!!

Okay!  Bedtime!

Love you all!!! ❤

Hi! It’s me! Lily!!!

I went to church today.

I still don’t really understand what the pastor’s talking about.  He uses a lot of big words.  I don’t know why.  And there’s a lot of standing up and sitting down and chanting and all that kinda thing.  And he keeps quoting the Bible, but it’s… weird.  It does have some good things to say, though.  “Do under others as you would have them do unto you”… pretty good advice, I think.  That Jesus guy seems pretty okay, but I don’t know what to make of that story.

The old people always seem happy to see me, though.  Some very dressed up old ladies always tell me how pretty I am and ask me how I like my family.  That’s nice of them.  But I think maybe they forget my answers from week to week, because they always ask.

Jack couldn’t go because of work, but I don’t think he really wanted to anyway.  That’s okay.  If he just comes sometimes that’s okay with me.

After work we set up the store with a cash register and set up some tables and chairs.  That was cool!  Now I can doot doot for myself!  Hahaha!!!  Doot doot doot!!!  But now I know how the dooter works!!!  It’s connected to a computer in the back office that we can use to see what our receipts and inventory are!!!  It’s neat!!!  And we also made up some signs and menus!!!  There’s some monitors up above the paying area where we can put pictures of our stuff!!! Dave did a good job!!!

So today I cracked open a bunch of pods and put the beans in the fermenting jar!!!  I’ll have to come back in a couple of days to make sure they’ve properly fermented!!!  Then they go in the dehydrator!!!

And they’re grosss!!!!!! Ewww!!! They’re like slimy maggots!!! But of course they get better.

Anyway, we have our grand opening in a couple of weeks!  Yay!  We might need some help, though, I think we might have some work for Jack and even maybe Liz and/or Beth.  I mean, I can’t doot every single hour, and we’ll need someone to deliver the cookies too!!!  I bet Jack would be good at that!  Or Liz in a maid costume!  I think I said that before!  Hahaah!!!

Anyway, it was a busy day.  Less than two weeks till Thanksgiving!  Turkey!  YAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!! Sabby makes the best turkey!!!

Love you all!!!

Hi! It’s me! Lily!

Your favorite Lily!

I hope!!!!

If I’m not, please hold at the end of this diary for an important survey!  Hahaha!!!!!!

Anyway, it’s Saturday.

I like Saturdays.

I woke up this morning and Liz was all snuggly.  Awww.  I don’t mind cuddling Liz.  She’s small, and soft, and smells good.  Like Marie!  But less hair!  Hahah!  I know she has a boy now (not quite a boyfriend yet, but she’s working on it) but she does seem to get lonely sometimes.  She doesn’t have a lot of friends.  Her parents don’t push her quite as hard as they used to, but she still has Chinese classes (she speaks it well, but it’s not her native language), violin, dance, tutoring… you know, all the stuff that parents would make a daughter they want to excel attend.  After the small crisis around this time last year (has it been that long???) they let off a bit, which is why I can sleep over at her place sometimes, but they still have high expectations for her.

She doesn’t seem to mind, but she does get lonely.

Sometimes when we sleep over she kind of clings to me like I’m her teddy bear, and doesn’t really want to let go.  Every now and then she cries a little too, but that’s not often, and she seems to feel better afterwards.  I guess that’s what being a best friend is about – she returns the favor sometimes too, like when Crystal, well, did that.

In fact, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to repay Jack and Liz for how they were there for me.

But I can try.

Anyway, after I got back from Liz’s and did my walk, we went over to the shop to see what Dave and David did, and…. and… it’s amazing!!!!  It’s the best thing ever!!!  They had a sign put up, and a display case, and there’s lots of industrial baking stuff in the backroom… and my benefactor came through and got it all licensed and approved!  Dave was careful to say that they didn’t let him cut corners, but they were very prompt with feedback and let him get things fixed quickly.  So Sabby has a shop now.  We’re going to open in a couple of weeks.  And I have a place to experiment with making chocolate too!  Once I get good at it she’ll use it for her cookies!

One thing, though, is that we’re still technically home schooled, so we’ll have to figure something out.  Beth and I go to college classes so much of our schooling is there, so it’s not too big a deal for us, but…  David…  well, he might need to start going to a private school.  I’m sure he’ll love that.  But given how good he is with the girls, maybe he actually will.

Ummm… what are we unleashing?

Hahaha!!!

Well, we’ll see!!!

Anyway she’s got a big industrial mixer and big industrial oven and lots of big industrial stuff for making food!  She’ll be able to make loads and loads of cookies!  Yaaaay!!!

I can’t use the industrial machines until I’m 18, but I can always doot doot and work on making chocolate (which doesn’t require big machines because the batches are smaller, for now, anyway) and help do the finances.  So I’ll have plenty to do.

Oh speaking of that, did I tell you?  I didn’t!  The people that manage my trust settled!  My trust is still there (and not doing as well as I’d like because of the economy) but they gave me a lot of money to make up for what I missed out on because of mismanagement!!!  And I don’t have to wait to use that!!! So I’m putting half of it into Sabby’s (and my) business, and the other half into savings!!!

Yaaaayyyy!!!

Who am I kidding.  A small amount of it goes to chocolate.

I mean, it’s me we’re talking about!!!

Anyway, this is long.  I didn’t even tell you about my date with Jack tonight!  But some other time.  It was a nice date. I love Jack and he loves me.

And..

Love you all!!! ❤

Hi! It’s me! Lily!

It’s Friday!

And it’s Veteran’s day!!!

I’m… still not entirely sure what that means.  I mean, I know what it means, but I don’t know what it means, y’know?  I guess there are people who fought in wars, and now they’re not fighting in wars anymore.  Or something.

It seems to mean a lot to Dave though.

Every year he puts a flag up outside and just stands there and looks at it for a bit.

I don’t think he was in the military.  He’s never said he was, and the story Sabby said about how they met and got married didn’t say anything about that.  But I guess he knew people who were.

I haven’t met many veterans, that I know of.  I’ve seen videos of them with missing arms and legs and stuff.  That sucks.  Dave says “war is hell” and I guess it is.  I hope we never have to deal with that, like the people in Ukraine and Russia.  I’ve heard stories about World War 2, and they’re awful.

What a depressing topic.  But I guess that’s what today is for.

Anyway, some of the girls are over tonight, and I went over to Liz’s.  That’s where I am now.  Her family got pizza (they don’t usually like food like that but they have a treat sometimes).  We’re about to turn in.  Oh, Liz is still dating her boy!!!  They’re getting along fine!!!  She even kissed him a bit!!!

She’s blushing!  Hahaha!!!

Love you all!!! Especially the veterans!!! ❤
